To promote my services and amplify my new mission for women over 45, The Me I Forgot, I stepped outside my comfort zone and joined Chris Grimes on The Good Listening Show.

The show’s storytelling format really appealed to me. It focuses on meaningful areas of life, making the experience deeply personal. Before the show, I reflected on four things that shaped me and three things that inspire me. My first thought was Liverpool, the city where I grew up.

I loved sharing Liverpool’s rich cultural heritage, stunning architecture, and vibrant arts scene. I even mentioned Anthony Gormley’s sculptures. Although I left thirty years ago, Liverpool still feels like home. I also spoke about Portsmouth, being a parent, and my time at SSE. These are all part of my life story.

Chris noticed a theme in my story: the importance of belonging. That value has shaped my journey and my work.

Real Reflections: What I Felt, Said, and Wish I’d Said

What I loved most was how relaxed the conversation felt. It was just me and Chris chatting. That style made it easy to open up. I enjoyed talking about my roots in Liverpool. In hindsight, I wish I had mentioned the cathedrals and the Albert Dock. There’s always more to say about a city that shapes you.

There were moments I was caught off guard. When Chris asked, “Who do you have up there?” I forgot to mention my in-laws and my great-nieces and nephew! I also noticed I repeated myself and said “absolutely” a lot. Note to self for next time!

I became emotional during the podcast when describing the gritty nature of coaching. Coaching is a warts-and-all process. I do not take it lightly. Every conversation is a privilege. It is an honour to be by someone’s side as they explore deep areas of themselves. I am there with them as they discover and reflect.

I loved describing a coaching session and the magic of silence. Holding space for someone is powerful. It allows them to reflect and grow in their own time.

If I could go back, I’d talk more about women in the workplace and my Listening Clinics. Many brilliant women have shared struggles with imposter syndrome, limiting beliefs, and shaky confidence. These stories inspired The Me I Forgot. My goal is to help women move past these barriers and step into their next chapter with confidence.

I also wish I had explained Agile more clearly. My overview was too simple. But that’s the beauty of storytelling: it’s never perfect, and there’s always more to share.

Why These Podcast Guesting Reflections and Insights Matter

Despite the things I wish I’d said, I’m proud of The Me I Forgot programme. My mission is clear: to coach one million women over 45 to enter midlife with confidence, purpose, and meaning.

I believe my children are my legacy. But I also hope to be remembered as someone who made time for people with kindness and compassion.
